Is your game controller for amateurs? Probably, but the Mad Catz LYNX 9 is definitely not. This super-premium wireless Bluetooth controller was just announced at CES and you can pre-order it ahead of the March release for $300. Admittedly it looks like a cool controller and will work for both PC and Android, but $300?
The LYNX 9 is the transformer of game controllers. It consists of separate left and right “wings” that can be attached in a number of different configurations. The grips can be adjusted to better fit your hands, and there’s a standard phone holder that lets you attach an Android device. If you want to play on a tablet, no problem. Take the two halves of the controller apart and attach them to the sides of the tablet with the included mounting system.
LYNX
A special performance tuning app for Android lets you make tweaks to the behavior of the buttons and analog sticks. It even supports individual presets for different games. A built-in mic will work for voice chat in select games or for general voice interaction with Android. Input is also available in the form of a Blackberry-style keyboard attachment. The controller comes with all these bits and pieces, and its battery can run for as much as 30 hours.
This is clearly not a controller for casual gamers–it may not even be for serious gamers. This is for someone who needs a ton of features in a wireless controller. Most people will be content with a controller that doesn’t separate into multiple modules for easy attachment to a tablet, but for everyone else, there’s the LYNX 9.
Mad Catz will offer it in black, white, and red. If you do want to pre-order, you won’t be charged until the controller ships. Plenty of time to change your mind, then. Credits :Geek.com
